PHILADELPHIA - September 3, 2014 - Today, Florcy Morisset, owner of the Vivant Art Gallery, and Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown, announced the 8 recipients of the Vivant Salutes! Awards.  Annually, Vivant Art Gallery honors dynamic women from the Philadelphia region who excel in their respective  industries. This year, Vivant Salutes is recognizing the contributions made by women leaders in the non-profit sector. The 2015 Vivant Salutes Awards and Art Auction will take place on Thursday, October 2, 2014, 6 - 9 p.m. at the Vivant Art Gallery on 60 N. 2nd Street. The honorees are:

Last month, Morisset announced that the Vivant Art Gallery will be closing this fall. Vivant Salutes is part of a 5 day celebration, chaired by Lisa Nutter, to recognize and honor Morisset’s work in Philadelphia’s art and business community over the last 7 years.

With a desire to expand Vivant’s impact on the arts community internationally, Morisset will pursue a dual MBA and a Masters of Art in Design Leadership from Johns Hopkins University and Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD. Although, Vivant Art Gallery will no longer have a physical home in Philadelphia, Vivant Art Consulting will continue to work with local art organizations curating art exhibits, programs and audiences. In addition, Morisset will continue to serve on the boards of some of the city’s most revered institutions, including the African American Museum in Philadelphia, the African Collections Committee of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and lead the Haiti Relief Fund for the Haitian Professionals of Philadelphia.

Thursday, October 2nd, 6pm - 9pm | Vivant Salutes! Women in Non-Profit Sector | Co-hosted by Philadelphia Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds-Brown. Vivant Salutes honors the contributions of Philly’s leading women in the nonprofit sector.

Friday, October 3rd, 9pm - midnight | First Friday Art Crawl Young professionals meetup for a night of art, wine and colorful conversation during First Friday Art Gallery Crawl in Old City, Philadelphia.

Saturday, October 4th, 6pm – 9pm | Signature Champagne Art Auction  Stop by the gallery to sip champagne, toast & celebrate cultural artists from around the world.

Sunday, October 5th, 6pm – 9pm | Jazz and Mimosas featuring Surprise Guests Mimosas and a live jazz performance by world renowned bassists Jamaaladeen Tacuma at our grande finale.
