Important Art Exhibit Comes to Old City in Just Time for First Friday

(August 20, 2103, Philadelphia) Vivant Art Collection presents unique museum level solo-exhibition by narrative painter, Chad Cortez Everett. Human: Trials, Transformation, Triumph – Believe the Hype, a Story of Enlightenment is an auto-biographical art exhibition which makes a social statement of finding one way while facing obstacles in life. Through the exhibition the artist tackles tough topics such as bullying, confirming to society pressure, identity, and mental illness. The high quality, thought-provoking but gentle paintings invites the viewer experience each piece. Chad Cortez Everett is an artist, full time teacher, and believes in the power of art to heal and transform. Chad goal is not only to sell his art but to take art curriculum into schools and recreation centers using his art work and education to tackle bullying among students.

Chad solo-art exhibits debuts September 6, 2013 during First Friday Art Crawl in Old City, Philadelphia at Vivant Art Collection. This art is exhibit consist of 24 original art paintings all for sale. The exhibit will be couple with interactive and dynamic panel discussion on black art with famous Philadelphia base artists James Dupree and Richard Watson (former Curator of Exhibitions at the African American Museum in Philadelphia). These two community events are open to the public for dialogue and reaction.

About the Artist: Chad Cortez Everett was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA.  He attended Temple University, Tyler School of Art and earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Painting and certification in Art Education. Also, Chad attended the Hoffeberger School of Painting at Maryland Institute, College of Art (MICA). Chad is influence by social change and his artwork addresses problems plaguing society. Chad is a highly awarded artist, mostly recently winning first place in the 2010 Art Regional Exhibition at the   Center for Creative Arts in Delaware and named the 2011 Visual Artist of the Year by The African American Coalition of Reading, PA.
